Our trip to the rocky shore!

Yesterday our junior syndicate went on a trip to Island Bay beach. We learnt lots about the different creatures and plants which live in amongst the rocks and how to respect their habitats.
We also visited the Island Bay Marine Education Centre. This was really fun because we learnt lots of interesting facts about sea creatures. We also got to see a female octopus which had laid thousands of eggs and we got to hold some sea creatures, including kina, anemones, worms, sea stars, limpets, sea slugs and other cool things too! Have a look at us exploring!!

  1. Hey!! That looks like so much fun! There are some weird and wonderful creatures out there, slimy and prickly ones - and, you guys are brave enough to hold them in your hands! Well done. Love the sandcastle.

  2. We all had a fun day of learning while we were at the aquarium. I enjoyed seeing and touching all the sea creatures in the touch tank too.
