On Friday, we had our Normandale School talent quest! Miss Head was really proud of the students who participated in the talent quest, especially the students from room 4! We had people acting, singing, dancing, telling jokes and playing the piano!

A Special Visitor!

On Friday morning, room 4 had a spooky visitor! She wouldn't tell us her name but she was frightening! She had creepy black spiders crawling in her bright pink hair and a blue, red and purple mask which was hiding her face!

At first, we were a little bit puzzled and scared by this mysterious stranger...

But then we had a little chat with her and realized that she meant us no harm. In fact, she kind of reminded of us our friend Bridget...

It's a shame Bridget was late to school on Friday and didn't get to meet our spooky visitor. It was strange because when we told Bridget about our mysterious visitor, a cheeky smile gleamed across her face...

Athletics Day

On Tuesday, we had our athletics day here at Normandale School. We could not have wished for more beautiful weather! The sky was blue, the sun was shining brightly and we were ready to show our parents and teachers the clever skills we had been learning.

First, we started with sprints down on the bottom field.

After that, the junior syndicate went up to the top field to start our activities. We competed in four different activities. We competed in the hurdles, bean throwing, hoop jumping and relays. Here are some photos of us showing off our skills...

What new skills are we learning?

Hairy Maclary Exhibition!

At the beginning of the term the junior syndicate visited the Hairy Maclary exhibition at The Dowse Art Museum. We had a fantastic time! We learnt a lot about Lynley Dodd and how she created the different characters in her stories. Here are some photos of us having a look at the exhibition.

We listened really carefully to how Lynley Dodd formed her characters and where she found the inspiration for her stories, which we found really interesting!

Look at us pulling our scariest Scar Face Claw face!

The Dowse Art Museum also had a special workshop where we were able to make our own prints. We were asked to design a creative, fictional character! First we had to draw our creative monster and then we had to give it a name. We were clever and came up with some wonderful and creative designs. Here are some photos of us hard at work...
