At the beginning of the term the junior syndicate visited the Hairy Maclary exhibition at The Dowse Art Museum. We had a fantastic time! We learnt a lot about Lynley Dodd and how she created the different characters in her stories. Here are some photos of us having a look at the exhibition.
We listened really
carefully to how Lynley Dodd formed her characters and where she found the
inspiration for her stories, which we found really interesting!
Look at us pulling our scariest Scar Face Claw face!
The Dowse Art Museum also
had a special workshop where we were able to make our own prints. We were asked
to design a creative, fictional character! First we had to draw our creative
monster and then we had to give it a name. We were clever and came up with some
wonderful and creative designs. Here are some photos of us hard at work...
We had a lot of fun making our animals and I had a fantastic time! I hope we will go again. Jimmy
