Different forms of transport!

This term we are studying different forms of transport and how people and things get from 'here to there'. We are also looking at how different forms of transport change over time.

The junior syndicate was very lucky yesterday to have the opportunity to look at two very old fashioned cars bought to Normandale School by Mr and Mrs Cameron. Mrs Silcock also bought her car out onto the back court and we asked ourselves "what are the differences and similarities between the two old cars and Mrs Silcock's new car?" Here are some of the ideas we came up with:

Both cars have: wheels, an engine, headlights, break lights, windows, window wipers, bonnets, boots, horns....

However..... the old cars did not have seat belts, they were much smaller inside, they had smaller engines, different shapes, one of the old cars had doors that opened different ways and the 1951 Bradford Sports Spec didn't even have doors!

Miss Head's favorite was the green 1931 Bradford Sports Spec. Here is a photo of Miss Head and Mrs Silcock sitting inside it!!!!

Here are some more photos of these fabulous cars.........

  1. I like how one of the cars could take its roof off, and how its horn was very loud. I've seen the blue car in Tintin.
